Meet the Board Members who make it all happen

Jenny Brocker, DC, DICCP, President

Location: Portland, OR

Jennifer Brocker is a 2007 Cum Laude graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. In 2012, Dr. Brocker became board-certified as a Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics having completed the required 3-year postgraduate course of study. Additionally, she completed the 80 hour workshop series in Dynamic Body Balancing with Dr. Carol Philips. She has felt a deep passion to help and serve other people for most of her life. From a young age she developed a deep respect and curiosity for health care because she grew up under the chiropractic care of her mom, Dr. Patricia Petrie. She believes a comprehensive approach to health care is in the best interest of the patient and it is her duty as a chiropractor to work with other health care professionals to provide patients with the best and most complete care possible.

Dr. Jenny uses her experience as a mother and her knowledge as a chiropractor to help make pregnancy a time of joy and celebration, leading to a positive birth experience. With three children of her own, Dr. Jenny, finds so much delight in working with children. They are a constant source of wonder and laughter and she loves helping them thrive.

Jennifer Murphy, DC, DICCP, Vice-President

Location: Pink Hill, NC

Dr. Murphy is 1995 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. She began her private practice opening her office, Pink Hill Chiropractic, on August 19th, 1996. In 2002, Dr. Murphy received her Pediatric Diplomate (DICCP) from Palmer College and the International Chiropractic Association’s Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics by completing three years of postgraduate coursework, research projects and multiple examination including a national board exam. Dr. Murphy felt a strong need to educate other chiropractors and the public about the benefits of pediatric chiropractic care so she started the NCCA Pediatric Council. She also continued to develop her skills in advanced pediatric chiropractic by publishing articles in various journal publications including JCCP and lecturing across the country.
Dr. Murphy is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Vice_President of the ACA Pediatric Council, the ICA Pediatric Council, The Christian Chiropractic Association, and the North Carolina Chiropractic Association. In 2011, Dr. Murphy was named Lenoir County’s top 20 under 40 for achievement in professional and personal activities and in 2012 earned the North Carolina Chiropractic Association’s Dr. Faye B. Eagles Woman of Chiropractic Award.
Married with one son, Dr. Murphy also has a small pesticide-free hobby farm which was featured on PBS’s show A Chef’s Life in fall 2016.

Kate Baker, DC, Treasurer

Dr. Kate treats patients of all ages from birth and beyond however her emphasis is on pediatrics and women’s’ health care issues. She is certified in Webster technique which is very helpful in the treatment of pregnant women to help alleviate discomfort and maintain health throughout pregnancy. Additional techniques include: Flexion-Distraction, Diversified, Gonstead, Logan Basic, Activator, Graston, and Dry Needling. Dr. Kate is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors, the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association, and the American Chiropractic Association’s Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics. Her hometown is in Buffalo Grove, IL but she relocated with her husband Dr. Jeremy Baker to Kentucky in 2011. The two met and married while at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis. They are proud parents to Ava and Eliza Baker. Along with being active in her community, Dr. Kate enjoys running, being outdoors, yoga, and spending time with her family.

Natalie Muth, DC, Secretary

Location: Grand Forks, ND

Dr. Natalie Newman Muth is a wife, mother, and chiropractor serving her home state of North Dakota. A 2008 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, she is a lifelong learner of all things health and wellness. She has deep ties to the Red River Valley and is rooted in the Greater Grand Forks community.
Dr. Natalie is passionate about empowering patients and families to be active participants in their own health. With a chiropractic practice focused on pediatric, prenatal and overall family care she enjoys helping children and their mothers flourish during all stages of life!
In addition to serving as the ACA Clinical Council on Pediatrics Secretary, she is a member of the North Dakota Chiropractic Association, ACA, and ICPA.
When she is out of the office you’ll find Dr. Natalie cooking, reading, and advocating for her community in various volunteer roles. Her favorite “hobbies” are chasing adventure and finding beauty in the everyday moments with her four children, husband, and dog.

Mallory Makeever, DC Social Media Committee Chair

Mallory Makeever was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, where she attended Belvidere North High School. She grew up playing soccer and competing in competitive cheerleading. She soon developed a passion for improving her flexibility and strength, and used her job at a local gymnastics facility to help others do the same. Her participation in these sports and activities sparked her love of fitness and human biomechanics.

Mallory then attended the University of Missouri, where she majored in Health Science with a minor in Psychology. During a medical services trip to Nicaragua through Global Brigades, she cultivated her desire to find a career in the medical field. Her time in Nicaragua strengthened her love of creating relationships with patients and providing them with optimal treatment. In her senior year at Mizzou, Mallory completed an internship with Dr. Curt’s wife, Krista, where she helped with marketing for Focus on Health. Mallory’s ambition to pursue a career in chiropractic was solidified through her time at Focus on Health.

Mallory recently graduated from Logan University in December 2021 with her Doctorate of Chiropractic. She is ecstatic to have another opportunity to work for Focus on Health, this time as a Chiropractic Physician. Mallory’s highest priority is helping her patients get back to doing what they love through quality care, empathy, and an optimistic attitude. When Mallory is not at Focus on Health, she enjoys exercising, reading and trying new foods with friends or family.

Dr. Mary Beth Minser is originally from Eden Valley, MN. She completed her pre-medicine/biology degree at the University of St. Thomas. She then completed her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, MN and is certified in acupuncture. She has a Fellowship from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She is a past president of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association, a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Jo Nell Cool, DC, ND, CCAP Membership Committee Chairperson

Dr. Cool is an adventurous woman who loves hiking and spending time outdoors. Her experience of pregnancy and postpartum led her to create The Cool Clinic as the place for people to get the care she wished she had been able to find in the past. Her practice is built for modern life and supports each person by treating the person on a deep level with heartfelt connection. She has a passion for helping people using the healing power of nature. Dr. Cool uses naturopathic and chiropractic care to bridge the gap between traditional practices and modern healthcare while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Colorado was her childhood home and where she returned to practice and after graduating the National University of Health Sciences in 2017. She also has completed advanced training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is certified in Webster technique and CACCP. She is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, ICPA, Colorado Association of Naturopathic Doctors. It was through her own health journey as a college student and personal trainer that she discovered how beneficial a chiropractic adjustment could be. After that pivotal experience, she was called to be a doctor and needed to share this knowledge with her community. Dr. Cool continues to train and learn advanced techniques to care for the people around her. She is a speaker and active in local groups in Fort Collins, Colorado. As a single mother to a rambunctious young boy, life is never boring.

Jessie Young, DC Research Committee Chairperson

Dr. Jessie Young is a pediatric chiropractor specializing in infants with breastfeeding issues. As a 2009 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West, Dr. Young has focused her continuing education over the years on pediatrics and women’s health. She is trained in a wide variety of techniques to help people of all ages address many different health concerns. She is nearing completion of becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Many pregnant women seek out care with Dr. Young for the Webster technique but she can meet her patient’s needs with the most gentle touch using myofascial, kinesotaping and craniosacral techniques or with more traditional approaches with modified gentle adjustments, exercise and graston techniques. She is also able to broaden her scope by offering a nutritional approach to many conditions like the common cold, allergies, pain management, sleep and digestive issues.She enjoys working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide the most comprehensive and highest quality care possible. She also has a special interest for helping those suffering from TMJ dysfunction, which for little ones result in difficulty breastfeeding. In addition to her role as research committee chairperson for the ACA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics, Dr. Young is a member of the Washington State Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association . In her free time Dr. Young enjoys spending time with her two boys and husband. They like to hike, visit beaches and cook vegan and gluten-free cuisines from around the world.
